Hotel Koh-I Nor is located at the highest point in Val Thorens. It has ski-in ski-out access via the Plein Sud blue slope. Offering panoramic views over the resort and mountains, with a 10 minute walk (or 3 minute bus ride) into the resorts town centre. 

Dining at Koh-I Nor is a real part of the experience, with a choice of stylish spaces to eat, drink and unwind after a day on the slopes - with three distinct restaurants offering something special for every evening.

  • Le Diamant Noir delivers a gourmet experience with inventive dishes served in an elegant setting with panoramic alpine views.
  • L’Atelier d’Eric offers a beautifully crafted multi-course dining experience, perfect for relaxed, indulgent evenings.
  • La Cave brings a more intimate feel, pairing regional specialities with exceptional wines from an impressive cellar.

Expect beautifully presented dishes that blend international flavours with Savoyard favourites, all served in an elegant mountain setting.

For a more relaxed end to the day, the lounge bar is a lovely spot for an aperitif, often with live music and sweeping views from the panoramic terrace.

All rooms have a luxurious feel and feature a balcony with extensive views. North-west facing rooms have views of the return slope, Plein Sud. South or south-east facing rooms have views of the mountains and the village of Val Thorens.

Duo north-west or south-east facing rooms are around 26m² and sleep two people in a king-size bed (or 2 single beds - request only basis, subject to availability). North-West facing rooms have an en-suite with either a bath or a shower, and South-East facing rooms have an en-suite with a bath and a separate toilet. 

Privilege north-west or south-east facing rooms are around 29m² and sleep two people in a king-size bed or up to three people with the additional bed being a single sofabed (75x180cm, strongly advised for a child under 16yrs only). These rooms have a luxurious marble en-suite with a bath and a separate toilet. 

Superior south-east facing rooms are around 34m² and sleep two people in a king-size bed or up to three people with the additional bed being a single sofabed (85x190cm). These rooms have a luxurious marble en-suite with a bath and a separate toilet. 

Luxe south or south-east facing rooms are around 36m² and sleep two people in a king-size bed or up to three people with the additional bed being a single sofabed (85x190cm). These rooms have a luxurious marble bathroom with a bath, a separate shower cabin, and a separate toilet. 

Junior suites are around 41m² and sleep two to three people (king-size bed and additional sofabed). These rooms are either South-East or North-West facing, located on the 7th and top floor of the hotel. These rooms have a luxurious marble bathroom with a bath and a separate toilet.

Superior junior suites are around 43m² and sleep two to four people. This suite features a master bedroom with a seating area, an alcove with two single beds, a luxurious marble bathroom with a bath, a separate shower cubicle, and a separate toilet. The south-facing balcony offers panoramic views.

Connecting family rooms are around 55m² and sleep up to five people. These rooms are composed of 2 interconnected rooms: a Duo room and a Privilege room, with a door between the 2 rooms to go from one to the other without going outside the rooms. In both rooms, you will find a luxurious marble bathroom with a bath and a separate toilet.

Connecting prestige family rooms are around 68m² and sleep up to six people. These rooms are composed of 2 interconnected rooms: a Privilege room and a Luxe room, with a small entrance hall between the 2 rooms to go from one to the other without going outside. In both rooms, you will find a luxurious marble bathroom with a bath (and a separate shower cabin in the Luxe room), a separate toilet, and a South-oriented balcony with panoramic views.

  • The transfer in Val Thorens will stop as close as possible to your chosen accommodation. In some cases there may be a couple of minutes' walk due to regulations on where coaches can stop
  • There is a traffic light system in the Tarantaise Valley controlling traffic and stopping cars and coaches sitting in places where rocks could fall, and to make snow clearing easier when snowing

Please note that transfer times may vary depending on weather conditions and traffic, particularly during peak season and French school holidays (French school holidays span 20 Dec 25 - 05 Jan 26, 07 Feb - 10 Mar 26 and 04 - 25 Apr 26). Private transfers are available on request.

Travel by train

We also have the Eurostar Snow Train which is bookable for 7 nights to Val Thorens, from London St Pancras. Available between 20 December and 28 March 2026.

This is a train that departs and returns Saturdays with a much shorter transfer of 1 hour from Moutiers railway station to resort.

Discover Val Thorens

At an altitude of 2,300m, Val Thorens is the highest ski resort in Europe and as part of the huge Three Valleys area, it is undoubtedly one of the very best. The resort has been designed to offer doorstep skiing from practically wherever you stay and has a village feel around a compact centre - where car access is restricted. The height of the resort means skiing in Val Thorens consists of long hours of sunshine, an unrivalled snow record and great skiing for all grades.

Things to do in Val Thorens

Tobogganing

The longest toboggan run in France can be found at the Cosmojet Toboggan run, accessible via the Péclet funitel. It takes about 45 minutes to run the roughly 6 kilometres to the bottom.

As well as the swimming pool and wellness facilities, the complex has a range of sports courts and a fitness area with body building facilities. There is also a soft play area for the children which includes giant trampolines, slides, rope bridges and a ball pit. Payable locally.

If you would prefer to experience the mountain by foot, there are plenty of paths to follow. The sentier de la Marine is a relatively easy walk of around 5km, starting at Chalet du Cosmojet you will be met with fantastic views across the snowy landscape.

Have you ever wanted to stay on the mountain after last lifts? Every Friday you can enjoy the Tête Ronde and Christine runs in Péclet sector until 6.30pm. It is free of charge for guests with a valid Val Thorens/ Orelle ski pass.

Take to new heights and have a go at the La Bee zip line at the top of the Moutiere chairlift. This adrenaline filled zip line is suitable for children over the age of 14. Height restrictions apply. Pay locally.

The Tyrolienne du Bouchet is the highest zipline in Europe giving you the chance to whizz through the incredible mountain scenery. Located at the top of the Bouchet chairlift. Pay locally.

Snake Gliss (sledge train to you and me) is where sledges are tied together, led by a professional instructor and whizzing down the 45 minute descent from the top of Funitel de Péclet. 

For a bit of evening entertainment head to the resorts bowling centre, where there are eight lanes for bowling, a pool table and a variety of games including a football table. 

Ride your own snowmobile, or with a passenger and follow your guide on a tour around the unspoilt winter landscapes around Val Thorens. Book and pay locally.
