About Hotel Gotthard

The stylish Hotel Gotthard is in the centre of Lech and has been family run for three generations. It started out as a small bakery and guesthouse with only eight beds in the 1930's, and has remained in the family ever since. It may have grown in size and splendour, but they've kept the traditional character and welcoming atmosphere.

Food is a real highlight at the hotel, where freshly baked bread and pastries are served each morning. Home-brewed beer, gin, and homemade cakes await later in the day. The hotel's own brewery, Omes 2557, continues the homegrown theme; try their Arlbeer, Bavarian lager, Pale Ale and wheat (or white) beer.

A home-from-home atmosphere and its very own brewery. What more could you ask for? Families will love it here, with indoor and outdoor play areas, a large garden peppered with sun loungers, a billiards table and game collection. The wellness area includes a large indoor pool with whirlpool and massage jets, plus relaxation area, and a sauna area with Finnish and bio saunas, steam room and waterbeds. All in all, everything you need for a relaxing base after a day spent exploring Lech's great outdoors.

With its roots as a bakery, food is at the heart of the Hotel Gotthard, and they still bake their own bread and pastries in the bakery today, just in time for you to enjoy at breakfast each morning. The family also brew their own beer (from Pale Ale to wheat beer) and distil gin, which is served in the hotel bar. There's a café too, so grab a seat in the sun and tuck into a slice of homemade cake in the afternoon sun.

In the evenings, you can look forward to a delicious four-course meal. Early meals are available for children on request from 6pm.

Lech, in the western reaches of Austria, is awash with see-and-be-seen skiers in winter. In summer, however, it’s a place transformed. The melting snows reveal jewel-green slopes and a village filled with gourmet restaurants and boutiques – plus summer cable cars and buses that open up several hundred kilometres’ worth of hiking and cycling paths. Summer holidays in Lech dive into this pretty picture of rugged mountains, turquoise lakes, meadows and forests, while also offering plenty for families with a penchant for adventure. Take a bike and explore the region at your own pace. Whether you prefer a slow cycle down paved paths, or an adrenaline inducing decent on uneven tracks, mountain biking and e-biking in Lech offers something for everyone; there are interactive biking maps too so exploring is easy. Confident riders looking for an adrenaline rush will love the Burgwald Biketrail next to the Petersboden lift - it's an exhilarating downhill ride with wooden berms, jumps and drops. Lots of our hotels have free bike hire too.

Golf course at Wengen Golf Club

Head over to the 19-hectare, nine-hole golf course in Lech Zürs and explore Austria highest range. Lech Forest Pool Slide

Nestled right in the middle of nature, you will discover the spacious forest pool between Lech and Zug. Relax on a nice summer's day with an ice cream from the kiosk, which also serves cold drinks and snacks - great for an energy boost after a game of beach volleyball. There's a sports pool with diving area, an aquafit pool, bubble loungers and splash showers - fun for the whole family, there is even a giant family slide.
