About Grand Hotel Francia & Quirinale

Francia & Quirinale is one of our most popular hotels in Montecatini. It’s got a lovely modern style with inviting public areas. The lounge has comfy sofas and an elegant décor with well-chosen antiques, making it a welcoming place to relax before dinner. The rooms all have parquet floors and large windows that let plenty of light in. The staff are great too and the family who’ve run this hotel for four generations know how to make every guest feel special.

You’ll be well located here to explore Montecatini and further afield. The hotel’s just a short walk from the centre of town and close to the thermal spas – a must do while you’re here. The train station is within walking distance and there are regular trains to Florence, Lucca and Pisa. When you need to relax, head to the hotel's pool. It’s lovely and peaceful with plenty of loungers for everyone. The pool bar serves drinks and light lunches so you won’t need to move if you don’t want to.

Each morning there's a good breakfast in the main restaurant and there's plenty of choice for your four course evening meal. Every dish uses local produce that's personally selected by the hotel owner and the kitchen staff in order to ensure quality.

The Central Restaurant is open exclusively for hotel guests and where your breakfast and dinner will be served. They have a zero-kilometre ethos where possible, so most of the food is organic and local.

Bar Lo Scudo D'Archille is named after the beautiful Flemish tapestry that hangs on one of the walls and is a great spot for an aperitivo. Hotel guests can book to have light lunches here and in the evening it opens up to the public serving dishes from their a la carte menu (payable locally).

The Ginori Room serves traditional Tuscan dishes with a modern twist.  The wine list is extensive - the sommelier, Giuseppe Marchi, will be happy to help with recommendations. The Ginori Room is pre-bookable and payable locally.

The Pool Bar serves snacks, salads, light lunches and cocktails throughout the Summer.

Discover Montecatini

  • Walk up to Montecatini Alto for post-card perfect views of rolling Tuscan hills
  • Admire ornate architecture and drink the healing waters of the Terme Tettuccio
  • Indulge in Chianti Wine Tastings and walk in the footsteps of Leonardo Da Vinci

The thermal waters of Montecatini have been a hit with visitors since Roman times, but they really took off in the 20th century, when famous composers and film stars cottoned on to their therapeutic qualities. But, there’s life beyond the baths. A funicular nips up to the heights of medieval Montecatini Alto and footpaths wind through forests and ancient pilgrimage routes, ideal for avid walkers. In the summer, Montecatini is also a great spot for exploring the rest of Northern Tuscany, with public transport networks connecting to Florence, Pisa and the sandy Tuscan coast.
