Hotel Palme is a great base for exploring Lake Garda. Being close to the centre of Garda makes it easy to get on a ferry to nearby towns or even the train to nearby cities like Verona. The resort centre itself is around five minutes away and there’s plenty of bars, shops and restaurants to enjoy. Not to mention the promenade that stretches for miles. It's perfect for lakeside strolls.

The hotel offers good value for money. It’s quite simple and traditional but has everything you need for a holiday base. Rooms are modest and have a private balcony or terrace. Two pools are in the gardens with a pool bar serving drinks and light snacks. The large restaurant serves tasty Italian cuisine and there’s a bar for a post-dinner nightcap.

Garda

Garda is one of the most charming resorts on Lake Garda. It’s hard not to feel relaxed when you stay here. Its wide promenade is perfect for leisurely strolls. The trees lined alongside it provide a welcome shade and the views of the lake are peaceful and awe-inspiring. The promenade stretches for miles and connects to Bardolino - this makes it perfect for cyclists too.

The medieval centre is just as pleasant to walk around. The shops here are varied and there’s a large market every Friday. Join the locals as they shop for fresh food and find some souvenirs to take home with you. In the evenings, head back to the lakefront and pick a spot in one of the many bars here. Make yourself comfortable with an aperitivo and enjoy a bit of people watching.

There’s a ferry port with regular ferries to nearby towns so getting out and about is easy. You’re also close to Verona so try and fit in a night at the opera if you can.
