About Tunturi Hotel Suites

The Tunturi Hotel Suites are a practical choice for skiers, located just 200 meters from the village centre and directly next to the cross-country trails. The suites are spread across four buildings, all within a two-minute walk of the main hotel hub, giving you quick access to the ski bus stop for downhill runs. Each suite is designed for a functional ski break, featuring a kitchenette for quick snacks, plenty of space to organise your equipment between outings and a drying closet to warm any mittens or ski socks.

The Tunturi Hotel Suites enjoy a serene setting set back from the village centre, surrounded by lovely snow-covered trees. The main village is just a short walk away, where you'll find a variety of gift stores, restaurants and cafes, as well as toboggan slopes.

Since the suites are part of the wider Tunturi complex, you have full use of the main building’s facilities to refuel. If you opt for half-board, the restaurant serves buffet-style breakfasts and three-course dinners featuring Lappish specialities—ideal for high-energy days on the mountain. For a more casual post-ski atmosphere, the wood-panelled Bar & Grill Pirtti is a reliable spot for a drink and pub-style food like burgers and pizza.

The Tunturi Hotel Suites can be booked on either bed and breakfast or half board. All meals are taken in the Tunturi Hotel's main building (approx. 150 metre walk).

An extensive hot and cold buffet is included. Each day you can fuel up for the day with a variety of continental breakfast items, with additional hot options.

You have the option to pre-book dinner, which is served in the Tunturi main building. You can enjoy a three course buffet dinner with a choice of main courses, including a vegetarian option, two desserts, soup and a salad buffet.  Evening meals are usually served between 5pm - 8.30pm.

For guests staying over Christmas and New Year, you can enjoy a buffet style meal with a seasonal menu, often featuring traditional dishes.

Studios are around 25m², and sleep one to two people in twin beds. Studios do not have the possibility for extra beds.

One-bedroom suites are around 40m² and sleep two to four people. These suites have one twin bedroom and an additional sofa-bed in the living room, which sleeps one adult or two small children (Max 3 adults)

Two-bedroom suites are around 69m²-79m² and can sleep two to six people. Each suite has two twin bedrooms, plus a sofa-bed in the living room which sleeps one adult or two small children (Max 5 adults). These suites are duplex.

Three-bedroom suites are around 68m²-98m² and sleep four to eight people. Each suite has three twin bedrooms,  plus a sofa-bed in living room which sleeps one adult or two small children (Max 7 adults). These suites are duplex.

Located in the far north of Lapland, Saariselkä is home to the northernmost ski resort in Europe.  The downhill slopes stretch across the Lisakkipää Fell and Kaunispää Fell, offering a relaxed selection of gentle blue runs and flowing red pistes that wind down the open fell landscapes and snow laden trees. Each run gradually descends back towards the same base area making it easy for you to navigate the area. Snowshoeing in Saariselkä is a wonderful way to discover the breathtaking scenery of Finnish Lapland. Set out on a guided snowshoe safari through snow-covered forests, immersing yourself in the untouched Arctic wilderness. Along the way, you'll stop for a warm berry juice by the fire, and as you traverse the trails, your guide will share stories about Lappish culture and the surrounding natural environment.

Equipped with snowshoes, you'll venture into the quiet, snow-covered wilderness, far from artificial lights, where the natural beauty of Finnish Lapland unfolds around you. Experience the thrill of driving through enchanted Finnish forests and fells on an exciting snowmobile safari. Before setting off on this unforgettable adventure across the pristine Arctic landscape, you’ll learn how to operate the snowmobile, and your guide will go through the trail rules. Children will ride in a sleigh behind the guide, while adults can share a snowmobile or can upgrade to drive solo.

Duration: 2 hours

  • All drivers must be aged 18 or over and must bring a full, valid photographic driving licence to the excursion. Snowmobiling is a physically demanding activity, so participants should have a reasonable level of fitness to take part.
  • Children must be aged 11 years or above and at least 140cm tall to ride as a passenger on a snowmobile; they must be able to comfortably reach the footrest while seated. Children under this height or aged 4-10 years will travel in a sled or pod towed behind the guide. Infants aged 0–3 years are unable to participate in this excursion.
  • Single riders who have purchased a sharing snowmobile may be required to upgrade locally to a single-driving snowmobile if no sharing snowmobiles are available.
Snowmobiles

Venture out into the remote areas surrounding Saariselkä for an opportunity to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights. As you whizz through the forests and over the fells, the magical Northern Lights may make an appearance, lighting the sky up in hues of purple, pink and green. Children will ride in a sleigh behind the guide, while adults can share a snowmobile or can upgrade to drive solo. Along the way, you'll stop at a traditional Finnish kota to warm up with berry juice before continuing your journey through the magical forests.

Husky Rides

A quintessential part of your Lapland visit is to experience a reindeer sleigh ride. Visit an authentic reindeer farm and learn all about the reindeer. You will then be taken on a serene sleigh ride through snowy forests, guided by a Sami guide and their reindeer. The visit includes a farm visit where you can learn about the reindeer.

Enjoy a delicious Lappish buffet dinner in the cosy Wilderness Restaurant and savour traditional dishes prepared over an open fire. You'll find dishes made with seasonal, local ingredients - often featuring local meats, fish and berries .  As you dine in the restaurant, your host will share insights into local Sámi culture, traditions and everyday life. You may even spot the Northern Lights dancing in the dark night sky.

Wilderness Dinner Buffet Menu
