Ratings/reviewsClick for full ratings

In traditional style and comfortably furnished, Hotel Lyskamm enjoys a superb position opposite the Campetto and Cretaz chairlifts. At the end of the slopes and just a road back from the high street, the Lyskamm's location is tough to beat - you can even ski back to within 20m of the front door. Family-run and serving a hearty breakfast every morning, this hotel has all you need for a great stay in one of Europe's greatest ski resorts. The guest rooms have been recently revamped with warm wooden floors and the decor is a mix of classic furnishings with modern touches. Facilities include a fitness room and bar but it's the outdoor whirlpool and sauna with views over the pistes and Matterhorn which steal the show (pay locally).

Cervinia

Dominated by the mighty Matterhorn and surrounded by outstanding scenery, the compact village of Cervinia is one of the highest resorts in the Alps. The extensive ski area is served by an impressive lift system which connects Cervinia with Valtournenche as well as Zermatt in Switzerland. The skiing in Cervinia seems almost limitless - from Plateau Rosa you can reach the slopes of both Zermatt and Valtournenche. It may not quite have Zermatt’s glamour, but Cervinia ski resort has masses of great intermediate skiing and is one of the highest resorts in the Alps meaning an unusually long season. In the best of both worlds you can ski up and over the Swiss border, enjoy some of the skiing on the Zermatt side and return to Italy in time for a late (and much cheaper) lunch! The village offers a good selection of shops, bars, nightclubs, pizzerias and restaurants.
