The first thing you'll notice when you arrive at Hotel Mezdi is the incredible mountain views. When you're not busy skiing down the fantastic pistes nearby, you can sit back with a drink and soak up the mountains from the impressive floor-to-ceiling windows. The hotel's pretty close to being ski-in, ski-out - simply cross the road and you can ski straight to the lifts.

Home away from home

Once you arrive, you'll receive a warm welcome from the hotel team. The Rudiferia family have been welcoming guests to the hotel since 1952, and have transformed a quaint guesthouse into the modern four star hotel it is today. Make the most of the picturesque views of the Dolomites from the comfort of your cosy hotel bedroom, each furnished in an attractive Alpine style. The lounge is the perfect spot to catch up with friends and family, and admire the stunning views of the Dolomiti mountains. Each day you can fuel up for a day of adventures at the varied breakfast buffet, and when you return tasty evening meals inspired by the region are served in the cosy restaurant.  The Mezdi is also ideal if you have little ones. It has large suites for families and a fun children's playroom with a ball-pool.

Soothing spa

The facilities just add to the great experience. The hotel has both an indoor and outdoor pool, relax with the waterfall and massage jets in the indoor pool or admire the panoramic views from the outdoor pool. When you need to soothe your ski legs, head to the wellness area with a range of saunas, steam baths and Kneipp - for the ultimate treat. facials, body treatments, massages, baths, and peels are available for a local fee.

Corvara & Colfosco

Corvara and Colfosco are delightful villages nestled in the Alta Badia region of the Dolomites and have been enjoyed by British skiers for many years. Ideally located on the Sellaronda circuit, they have easy access to the main slopes including connections to Arabba, Selva, Val di Fassa and the exhilarating Marmolada glacier. The local ski areas of La Villa and San Cassiano also boast superb skiing amidst inspiring scenery. Corvara (1568m) at the foot of the dramatic Mt.Sassongher and two mountain passes - the Passo Gardena and Passo Campolongo - offers a range of boutique shops and cafes, and some great après-ski bars such as the 'El Murin' which you can ski back to and dance there in your ski boots. There’s an indoor ice-stadium too. Colfosco is a pretty village next door to Corvara, which shares the same welcoming atmosphere and is just as well placed to maximise the vast skiing opportunities the Alta Badia ski region has to offer.

Colfosco

There’s a lot more to Colfosco – close to the slopes of Passo Gardena - than just a link with the legendary Sellaronda circuit! Or just being neighbouring Corvara’s “little brother” a mile or so away. This delightful village in the Alta Badia region of the stunning Dolomites, with its Gothic church,  maybe smaller and quieter, but it has a distinct charm of its own and some good hotels and restaurants. Apart from the Sellaronda, the best local skiing is “up the road” at Corvara, taking in the excellent “local” slopes of La Villa and San Cassiano. Both villages also have access to the ski areas of Arabba, Selva, Val di Fassa and the iconic Marmolada glacier. Colfosco is the final destination for one of the great off-piste descents in the Dolomites – the Val Mezdi (Mid-day Valley).  But do take a guide and be prepared to turn back if the steep start of the run puts you off!  It quickly levels out, and by the time you have reached Colfosco, you’ll have descended well over 1200 vertical metres (almost 4,000 feet) – and skied one of Italy’s classic runs.
