Dating back to 1986, the Oswald was once considered to be the best hotel in the Dolomites, and remains as one of Selvas most historic hotels.

With elegant alpine interiors, a gourmet style restaurant, and a great location this property is a great choice for your next break.

Free shuttle to the lifts

The Ciampinoi gondola is only 350 metres from the door and there's a free shuttle to get you there in the morning. Additionally the bus stop is nearby so you can easily make your way between the different areas of the Val Gardena - beginners will enjoy the sunny slopes of Alpe di Siusi or Plan de Gralba, while the more advanced skiers will enjoy one of the longest slopes in the Dolomites, La Longia in Seceda.

Cosy and traditional

The Oswald retains its charm, the cosy rooms are spacious, and furnished with warm wood throughout and many of them have lovely views of the resort and surrounding mountains. The elegant public areas are ideal for catching up with friends and family, head up to the lounge and enjoy the mountain views from the conservatory or enjoy a drink in the cosy bar area.

Alpine specialities

You can enjoy delicious dishes at the Restaurant Oswald. Start your day off at the breakfast buffet which includes local breads, typical alpine cheeses and cold cuts, pastries and other seasonal produce. Look forward to a delicious evening meal in the elegant dining area, the seasonal four course menu is inspired by the local Ladino flavours and tastes of the Mediterranean. Once a week there is a Tyrolean theme night, so you can taste some of the regions specialities. There is an excellent wine menu too, be sure to ask the staff for their recommendation.

Wellness Area

When you get back, try and get some time in the spa - there's nothing better than soothing tired legs in the whirlpool or steam room. The wellness area also features a sauna, solebath and whirlpool. Give your achy ski legs a break and book a massage or treatment with the masseur, its a little extra cost but well worth it.

The Chalet Soldanella offers an authentic chalet experience in a great location. The resort centre and slopes are just a short walk from the chalet, and you can enjoy six days of catering and tasty afternoon treats when you return from a day on the slopes.

Hotel Mignon is a lovely family run hotel on the edge of town, there's a free shuttle service which runs between the lifts, so getting onto the mountain couldn't be easier.

Bars and restaurants in Selva

There are plenty of cafes and restaurants in Selva serving tasty Tyrolean specialities, as well as classic Italian cuisine.  When you get onto the slopes, you can find a cosy mountain hut on almost every slope, many of them are also serving tasty Tyrolean dishes, but you can also find pizzas, pastas, fish specialities and grilled meats. Be sure to stop for a warming Bombardino or hot chocolate on your way back to resort - the Panorama Hut on the Dantercepies slope is a fantastic spot to watch the sun set over the Dolomiti peaks.

If you are looking for a spot for some après-ski, there are a few options to choose from. Luiskeller is one of the best known après-ski bars in the Val Gardena, and everyone who has visited Selva has probably partied in the basement bar at least once. Leave your skis at the nearby ski depot and dance the night away.  If you are looking for somewhere with a more relaxed vibe, La Stua has a fantastic location at the foot of the slopes. Many of the other bars in resort have a more relaxed vibe, where you can enjoy a beer or an Aperol Spritz with friends and family.
