Beginners skiing and snowboarding in Laax 

Laax caters well for beginners thanks to its range of gentle and easy slopes. If it’s your first time on the snow, there are nursery slopes located at the Films, Laax and Falera bases. Once you’ve found your feet, head over the Crap Sogn Gion area for more forgiving slopes to progress on. For more confident beginners, the blue run from Crap Sogn Gion back down to Laax is wide and gentle and offers some stunning panoramic views of the valley as an added bonus.  

Intermediate skiing and snowboarding in Laax 

Intermediate skiers will feel right at home in Laax, with a fantastic mix of long, confidence-boosting blue runs and wide, cruisy reds ideal for picking up speed and perfecting your turns. With the combined areas of Laax, Flims and Falera, there’s loads of terrain to explore – from the high-altitude Vorab Glacier with its sweeping views, to the scenic Sogn Martin slopes that wind through tree-lined trails. The lift system is modern and efficient, making it easy to cover plenty of ground in a day, and there are plenty of welcoming mountain huts along the way. 

Advanced skiing and snowboarding in Laax 

Advanced skiers are in for a treat in Laax, with plenty of steep terrain, challenging black runs and some of the best freeride opportunities in the region. The Vorab Glacier is a standout, offering more demanding slopes at high altitude with epic views to match. There’s a solid selection of black pistes across the area, ideal for testing technique and speed, and if you're after fresh powder and adventure, the off-piste routes from Laax and Flims won’t disappoint. 

Off-piste and terrain parks in Laax 

Freestyle runs through the heart of LAAX. While you’re here, challenge yourself on the world’s largest halfpipe, tackle the Olympic-sized Pro Kicker Line, or explore five snow parks packed with over 90 obstacles. With such incredible variety, it’s no surprise LAAX has been crowned ‘World’s Best Freestyle Resort’ nine years running. 

If you’re just starting out, ease in at the Beginner Snowpark or enjoy the playful wave lines at Whoop De Doo. Ready to push your skills further? Head to Ils Plauns for a great mix of rails, boxes, and kicker lines. For nonstop action and big air, P60 offers a thrilling 1,000-metre run with Olympic-sized kickers. And when you’re ready to go all out, take on ‘The Beast’—Europe’s largest superpipe—at the legendary NoName Snowpark. 

Beyond the parks, LAAX invites you to experience the freedom of its off-piste powder playground. With avalanche-secured, yellow-marked freeride routes, even less experienced riders can safely dive into deep snow and savour the thrill of untouched terrain. 

Cross-country skiing in Laax  

If the mountain pace feels a bit too fast, why not try cross-country skiing instead? Around Flims, Plaun, Bargis, Sagogn, and Trin, you’ll find a varied network of 62 kilometres of double-tracked trails—perfect for classic skiing or skating. Whether you’re after a peaceful glide or a sporty challenge, these trails have got you covered. 

Ski Bus

The ski bus is free for anyone with a valid lift pass and runs frequently, typically every 15-20 minutes from early morning to evening, connecting the base areas of  Flims Dorf, Laax, Falera, Laax Murschetg. This makes it seamless to hop between slopes and base villages.

Postauto & Local Bus

Overnight guests in Laax receive a Flims Laax Falera guest card on arrival in resort. It includes free transport on the Postauto & Local Bus Flims Laax Falera between the stops Flims Vallorca, Fidaz Waldrand, Laax Caltgera, and Falera center. You just need to show your valid guest card during ticket inspection.

For a laid-back meal right on the slopes, Caffè NoName is perfect - casual, tasty, and ideal for refuelling between runs. If you’re after something a bit fancier, Grandi’s Ustria da Vin serves up delicious Swiss and Mediterranean dishes in a warm, inviting atmosphere and is a great choice for a special evening out. And for a truly memorable experience, check out La Vacca, a steakhouse set inside a cosy Tippi ten on the mountain, where you can enjoy amazing grilled meats with stunning views. Around the village, you’ll also find plenty of cafés and restaurants offering everything from traditional Swiss favourites to international bites, so you’ll never run out of options after a day on the slopes. 

If you’re after a lively night, the Riders Hotel is the place to be, especially on weekends when they host live music and DJ sets that keep the energy buzzing. For a more laid-back spot right on the mountain, Caffè NoName is perfect for enjoying a drink with stunning views or chill out on the deck chairs at Satellite Bar and enjoy the view of the mountains. In town, Il Pup offers a relaxed vibe where you can kick back and soak up the friendly atmosphere or head to Grandis Ustria da Vin - ideal for a mellow evening or antipasti and wine tasting. If you're booked into the Signina Hotel, you’ll have free access to the hotel’s lovely spa area—perfect for unwinding after a day on the slopes. You can take a dip in the adventure pool, relax in the sauna or steam bath, squeeze in a workout in the fitness room, or treat yourself to a massage or beauty treatment.

You’ll also receive a Wellness Pass, which gives you access to the 'Around Spa' facilities at partner hotels across the resort. If you’re up for trying something new, just ask our Destination Experts for a full list of participating hotels so you can make the most of your relaxation time.

Travel by train

Travel from London St Pancras to LAAX by train. Bookable online for seven-night holidays, departing on Saturdays.

Transfers between Zürich Airport and Laax are available by train and PostBus.

The train journey takes around 2 hours 40 minutes and usually involves two changes — first at Zürich HB (Hauptbahnhof) and then at Chur. From Chur, you take the PostBus to Laax GR Bergbahnen, which takes about 40 minutes. The train station at Zürich Airport is just a short walk from the Arrivals area, and the PostBus stop is directly outside Chur train station. Trains and buses are part of the Swiss Travel System, with timetables designed for smooth and convenient connections. In Laax, the bus stop is about 200 metres from the Signina Hotel reception, where you will check in for either the Signina Hotel or the Rocks Resort.

Tickets will be sent by our UK Operations team or your travel agent at least 48 hours before departure. Train tickets are valid for any train on your travel day, and you can find timetables and real-time updates on the SBB website or via the SBB app.

If you are travelling on a Saturday, Inghams staff will be waiting outside Airport Arrivals to greet you, provide information, and assist with your transfer.

Things to do in Laax

Experience the Senda dil Dragun (The Dragon Path) - the world’s longest treetop walkway. The 1.56km path links Laax Murschetg and Laax Dorf. Enjoy stunning views over snow-dusted forests, four scenic platforms, adventure spots, marble runs, and even a slide - it's an exciting winter walk for all ages.

The LAAX Freestyle Academy is an impressive 2,000 m² indoor arena designed to help winter sports enthusiasts train and hone skills to take to the slopes. This state-of-the-art facility elevates freestyle training with innovative spaces and equipment, encouraging cross-discipline practice in sports such as skateboarding, parkour, and gymnastics - all year round.

The Freestyle Academy features trampolines, a skatebowl, parkour zones with an airbag, and a jumping tower, creating a versatile environment where beginners and advanced riders alike can safely practice tricks, develop new skills, and push their limits creatively.

Even the youngest adventurers are welcome! The Kids Freestyle Academy, designed for children aged 0–8 years, provides a safe and fun space to master the basics, attempt their first jumps, and explore simple tricks with confidence.

There are loads of fun toboggan runs around the area, perfect for some great sledging action. They’re open during the day and even for night sledging on certain dates - with cable cars running to get you up to the top. You can easily rent sledges right at the LAAX or Flims valley stations.

You'll find around 100 kilometers of marked hiking and walking trails winding through Flims Laax. Whether you’re up for a short stroll or a full-day adventure, you can choose from a variety of winter hikes and snowshoe tours to suit your mood.

They don’t call it The Big Beast for nothing - LAAX’s giant halfpipe is the largest in the world! Standing 6.9 metres high, stretching 200 metres long and 22 metres wide, it’s an absolute monster. You’ll find it up on Crap Sogn Gion in the No Name snowpark.

The best part? It’s not just for the pros. Sure, it’s a training ground for world-class athletes, but anyone visiting Flims Laax can give it a go. Whether you’re dropping in yourself or kicking back with a drink at the bar above, watching riders launch out of the pipe is seriously epic.
