About Hotel Alpenland

The elegant Hotel Alpenland is conveniently placed for your Obergurgl summer adventures. A short walk from the village centre and the Hohe Mut gondola - your gateway to adventure. A mix of traditional and modern, the hotel feels homely but chic. In the cosy rooms the use of warm wood is a nod to alpine traditions, whilst modern bathrooms and bright pops of colour add a unique touch.

Meals at the Alpenland are delicious - traditional Austrian cuisine with themed buffets or BBQs once a week, and excellent gluten-free offerings. After a day conquering mountains, it's just what you need. And when you're ready to kick back and relax with a drink? The snazzy and newly refurbished bar is the perfect place to toast your adventures.

If evenings relaxing in the bar aren't horizontal enough then the spa should do the trick - soothing saunas and a steam room, an invigorating ice grotto, a Kneipp pool for revitalising water therapy, and multiple relaxation areas. All ready to help you relax and recharge.

Discover Obergurgl

  • Walk through the centuries-old Stone Pine Forest
  • Enjoy glacier and mountain views from the Hohe Mut
  • Spot the golden eagles, chamois, ibex and marmots who live at high altitude

Obergurgl sits at the end of Ötztal, the longest valley in the Tyrol. With 1,950 metres of altitude under its belt, this is the spot for high alpine walking holidays in cooler summer climes – often a relief from the warmer summers below. This is a region shaped by the Ice Age, with towering mountain peaks, glacial valleys carved into the rock and icy rivers which flow from the glaciers. It's the perfect terrain for adventuring and there are hundreds of kilometres’ worth of trails, plus rafting rivers, climbing routes and heady via ferrata. There are plenty of opportunities for relaxing too, thanks to the luxury hotels, spas and pools that adorn the valley.
