An Inghams ‘Xtra Chalet’ offers all the benefits enjoyed in one of our welcoming chalets, but with a few welcome added extras included to further enhance your stay, including a full residents-only bar run by our own friendly Inghams bar staff, cake, soup and other teatime treats at afternoon tea, rosé wine as a fifth wine choice with dinner, plus an extra course - a local cheeseboard - to top off the chalet dining experience.
We are frequently told by guests that ‘The Inghams team made our holiday!’ – a compliment we are determined to live up to once again this winter. Our Xtra Chalet staff are all enthusiastic dinner-party cooks, who look forward to providing you the warm welcome, delicious food and friendly service which lie at the heart of an Inghams chalet holiday. Most are also avid skiers or snowboarders, and love nothing more than to share their knowledge and passion for the slopes with our guests. Our larger chalets have a professional Chalet Chef to cook for you, with Chalet Assistants helping to serve all meals and look after the chalet’s house-keeping duties.
You have been telling us it’s time to refresh our catering options for next winter. And we’ve taken onboard our guest’s most frequent comments, feedback, and suggestions. You have asked for an ‘evolution, not revolution’ to the food and drink we offer. For this reason we have made the following tweaks to our food & drink service for Winter 17/18.
Our popular range of Xtra Chalets continues to grow. Next winter the Dragon* in Cervinia and the Le Dôme and Le Curling* in Tignes will all join this much appreciated range, blending chalet service with a full-service Chalet Hotel.
Evening meals will feature the same number of courses as our Chalet Hotels but with a more personal ‘table d’hôte’ menu each day. However, we will be offering a daily choice of dessert or cheese to round off your dinner. So whether you prefer to end your evening meal with a savoury or sweet option, there is something for everyone.
The rest of our Xtra Chalet evening meal service will remain the same.
Dinner is a delicious 4-course chalet menu, served 6 days per week†, with vegetarian options always available, plus other special diets catered for at a supplement. Please let us know at the time of booking if you require the alternative vegetarian menu or have any other dietary requirements.
Your Chalet ‘Xtra’ holiday includes:
†(On your Host’s one day off each week, they will leave a simpler Continental breakfast out for you to help yourselves, there is no afternoon tea that day, and you can dine out locally in the evening. Your Resort Represenative will gladly help out with information and make a reservation for you if you wish.)
*The main ground floor bar in Chalet Hotel Dragon in Cervinia is open to the public as well as to residents until 11.30pm only, whilst the well-soundproofed basement bar hosts occasional live music and entertainment evenings. Chalet Hotel Curling in Tignes has a bar adjacent to reception for residents guests only, and the 'Ti-Bar', which is a public bar on the lower ground floor (3 floors below any guest bedrooms), is open till late, but with its own completely separate entrance.
The wines for our chalets are chosen in conjunction with our good friends and established wine experts, Nicolas and Véronique Perret, who have helped us select two contrasting whites and two choice reds plus one rose wine for you to enjoy, unlimited, throughout dinner each evening.

Children in Xtra Chalets
Children of all ages are welcome in all our Xtra Chalets on all dates. We serve a separate High Tea at 5:30pm for children aged 11 years and under with an appropriate menu.
However, parents may elect for their children (11 years and under) to eat with them at the adult meal times on payment of a £39 per child per week supplement.
