With 225km of pistes between 1,300m and 3,600m, Les 2 Alpes is ideal for all levels of skiers and boarders. Unusually, the higher the altitude, the easier the pistes. In fact, the glacier is ideal for beginners and new for the 15/16 winter season is a blue run taking skiers from the glacier right down to the resort. Les 2 Alpes stretches along a spectacular valley which has developed into a popular ski resort from its original mountain origins. The après-ski is lively with an impressive number of shops, bars, restaurants and animated nightlife. The whole resort lies alongside the main pistes so you are never far from one of the many lifts. Beyond these is high- altitude skiing and magnificent scenery which can be enjoyed from the top of the glacier. The village itself is a compact community located on a plateau, so it’s easy to walk everywhere - even with a pushchair! There are many activities for children: a swimming pool, ice rink, three secured sledding runs, ice gliders (ice-karting at the ice-rink), and bowling, with some lanes especially adapted for small children. Every week, the tourist office organises free entertainment for children such as painting, ice sculpting, dancing, and night-time shows.
|Off Piste||Best up high|
Several short lifts give access to nursery slopes and there are lots on gentle runs up on the glacier, perfect for gaining confidence.
There is some fast cruising here especially from the glacier to Toura and in the terrain of the north-facing bowls.
The black runs down to resort are steep and the Grand Couloir from Tête Moute should not be missed. Otherwise head to the Vallons Diable itinerary and the endless powder in the Fée Bowl.
A top resort with terrain to suit all levels. Try the boardpark at mid station with its kickers, spines, rails and boardercross course.
