Ratings/reviewsClick for full ratings

Hotel Degli Olivi's a little oasis in the centre of Garda. There are only 12 rooms so it's got a really cosy atmosphere. It’s a lovely place to come back to at the end of the day, once you’ve explored Garda or taken a ferry to one of the other lakeside resorts. The gardens are really well looked after, with roses growing next to the olive and cypress trees. There’s even an outdoor whirlpool, making it impossible not to feel relaxed. The conservatory looks out onto the garden, so you can enjoy the natural surroundings whilst having breakfast.

If you stay here, you’ll also be able to use the Gardacqua centre for free. Gardacqua's a spa centre with two pools and plenty of spa facilities. It’s just a 15-minute walk away or you can jump on the free local bus.

Transfer time: approx. 45 mins by coach from Verona airport.

Garda

Garda is one of the most charming resorts on Lake Garda. It’s hard not to feel relaxed when you stay here. Its wide promenade is perfect for leisurely strolls. The trees lined alongside it provide a welcome shade and the views of the lake are peaceful and awe-inspiring. The promenade stretches for miles and connects to Bardolino - this makes it perfect for cyclists too.

What to see on a Garda holiday

Garda's medieval centre is really pleasant to walk around. The shops here are varied and there’s a large market every Friday. Join the locals as they shop for fresh food and find some souvenirs to take home with you. In the evenings, head back to the lakefront and pick a spot in one of the many bars here. Make yourself comfortable with an aperitivo and enjoy a bit of people watching.

There’s a ferry port with regular ferries to nearby towns so getting out and about is easy. You’re also close to Verona so try and fit in a night at the opera if you can.

Things to Do

Things to see and do

Garda’s got good ferry links to the rest of the lake so you can explore quite a lot from here. Gardone is just across the lake and is where you’ll find the Heller Botanical Gardens – great for anyone with an interest in nature and art. You can also hop on a ferry to Sirmione and wander round the castle and historic centre.

Activities

This area’s fairly flat so if you’re looking to get your steps up with some nice lakeside walks, it’s ideal. You can walk along the promenade to nearby Bardolino quite easily. If you want a bit more of a challenge, take a walk along the six-kilometre route up La Rocca. When you get to the top you’ll get to enjoy panoramic views over the lake. We love heading here for the sunset.

Garda’s promenade is traffic free so it’s perfect for leisurely bike rides. It’s a lovely way to travel around the lake and visit nearby towns. We recommend stopping for a lakeside lunch before pedalling back. There’s lots of places in town to rent a bike from and some of our hotels offer them for free to guests.
