You’ll be just a few minutes’ walk from Sirmione's centre when you stay at Hotel Eden. It’s just at the edge of the town on the lakefront next to the harbour. The views of Lake Garda from here are fantastic, plus it’s nice and easy to get to the ferry port and explore further afield.

The hotel’s family-run and provides a great service. There’s rich history here and many famous faces have stayed in the past including acclaimed poet Ezra Pound. The interiors have been completely modernised and the rooms feel very fresh with bright colours and wooden floors. The lakefront terrace has to be the best feature – head here and grab a drink while you enjoy the views. There’s a sun terrace too with loungers and direct lake access if you want to have a swim. If you’d rather use a pool then you’re welcome to use the facilities at the Eden’s sister hotel, Hotel Olivi located 300 metres away.

As you’re right in the centre of Sirmione there plenty of restaurants to head to for dinner. Try a different one each night. You can check with the hotel staff for their recommendations. If you choose half board, you'll eat dinner at Hotel Olivi where you'll get four courses each night with tasty local dishes.

Sirmione

Sirmione really has that wow factor. It’s one of the most distinguishable resorts on Lake Garda thanks to its fairy-tale like castle. You’ll need to cross the moat to get into the historic centre – get the camera ready for some great Instagram shots here. Once you’re inside the centre is traffic free and full of interesting shops, restaurants and bars. This is one of the best places on the lake to get gelato so grab a couple of scoops as you wander round and explore.

What to see on a Sirmione holiday

Sirmione’s peninsula is only three kilometres long so you can easily walk the whole length. The centre is always busy but has a great atmosphere. If you head to the tip of the peninsula you’ll find beaches and an old Roman Palace. Sirmione’s a spa town so make sure you spend some time relaxing in the natural thermal waters too.

Things to Do

Things to see and do

The town has a rich history so there’s lots to see and do. Grotte di Catullo are fascinating Roman ruins at the tip of the peninsula. It’s easy to get to other resorts on the lake too as ferries run all day from the central port. Jump on the bus, and you can be in Verona in under an hour. It’s a great city to walk around – it’s compact size means you can see all the sights in one day, too!

Sirmione’s been known for its healing thermal waters since the Roman times and there’s plenty of places to enjoy them on the tiny peninsula. Aquaria’s our go-to place when we need to relax - it has the biggest pools and over 10,000 square metres to chill out in.

Food & wine

You can't leave Sirmione without having a scoop of gelato. There's plenty of gelateria in the pedestrianised centre, so pick out your favourite flavour (or two!) and enjoy as you wander around. When it's time for lunch or dinner, head for Piazza Carducci where you'll be spoilt for choice.
