There are magnificent walks accessed by gondola on the Schmittenhöhe mountain, and the resort offers a wide range of activities plus evening lake cruises and a weekly village festival in July and August. Just 20 minutes away by local bus, the pretty mountain village of Kaprun is an ideal place for walking and cycling, with skiing on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier available from end of September to mid-July.
