Ratings/reviewsClick for full ratings

Grand Hotel Liberty is right in the centre of Riva. You couldn’t be better placed for exploring the town or taking lakeside walks. You’ll have Riva’s cafes, bars and restaurants on your doorstep and a wonderful indoor pool and spa back at the hotel to relax in when you’ve grown tired of exploring.

The hotel has a timeless elegance – the Art Nouveau façade houses high, arched ceilings and a traditional décor of parquet floors and antiques. The rooms are spacious, some are modern and others and more traditional. Head out back for the outdoor pool – loungers are placed on the surrounding lawn so lay down your towel and top up your tan. When it’s time for dinner, the restaurant serves up traditional Italian food with a modern twist. Make sure you save lots of room!

Make sure you pack your sense of adventure for a holiday in Riva del Garda. This is Lake Garda’s most northern town and there’s mountains all around. Some of the best hiking and cycling trails start from here – Strada del Ponale is our favourite and you’ll get a bird’s eye view of the town and lake. For a more unique viewpoint, try some mountain climbing. Riva’s probably best known for its water sports and it’s not uncommon to see windsurfing competitions taking place throughout the summer. You can try it yourself while you’re there as well as sailing and scuba diving.

When you need to slow things down a bit you can stroll along the lake promenade or take a seat in the historic piazza. It’s pedestrianised and has a slight Austrian feel – you’ll find apple strudel and schnitzel on the menu in some cafés. The old town is lovely to walk around – think cobbled streets and flower-filled terraces. There’s lots of bars, shops and restaurants so it has an energetic atmosphere during the summer. We love the beaches here too. The large white pebbles spill into the clear lake and it’s almost impossible to resist a dip.
