Ratings/reviewsClick for full ratings

Hotel Du Lac is a longstanding favourite of Inghams guests and it’s easy to see why. It’s a charming, family run property with superb levels of service. It’s got a tranquil setting thanks to the quaint gardens that surround the building and unrivalled views of the lake and harbour - as well as private beach access. Best of all, the historical centre of Sirmione is only a kilometre away so you can reach it easily.

There’s a homely and comfortable feel here - the décor is wonderfully traditional. Rooms are bright and spacious with good amenities and some have partial views of the lake or gardens. The excellent restaurant offers fresh dishes including homemade pasta. There's a cosy bar here too for an after-dinner drink. Out in the gardens you'll find a large pool overlooking the lake and plenty of sun loungers and parasols. If you fancy taking a dip in the lake itself, the picturesque promenade just off the Du Lac's sun bathing platform is the perfect place to take the plunge.

On the days you choose to stroll into town, a maze of cobbled streets awaits. Browse the boutique shops, restaurants and cafes and don’t forget to stop at the all-important ice cream shops, the most famous of which, Cremeria Bulian, is located right on the town square.

Sirmione really has that wow factor. It’s one of the most distinguishable resorts on Lake Garda thanks to its fairy-tale like castle. You’ll need to cross the moat to get into the historic centre – get the camera ready for some great Instagram shots here. Once you’re inside the centre is traffic free and full of interesting shops, restaurants and bars. This is one of the best places on the lake to get gelato so grab a couple of scoops as you wander round and explore. Sirmione’s peninsula is only three kilometres long so you can easily walk the whole length. The centre is always busy but has a great atmosphere. If you head to the tip of the peninsula you’ll find beaches and an old Roman Palace. Sirmione’s a spa town so make sure you spend some time relaxing in the natural thermal waters too.
