Sat at the top of the resort on the slopes, Hotel Continental not only has some of the best panoramic views of the area, it literally couldn't be easier to get on the mountain each day with the Dantercepies gondola outside the back door. The setting is truly outstanding with nature on your doorstep and a lot of effort has gone into making this an attractive and comfortable hotel to relax and enjoy everything on offer.

The public areas are decorated in an attractive, traditional style with hints of modern touches. The bar area is a lovely place to unwind by the warm fireplace and enjoy a few drinks with friends and family. Alternatively, you could take a trip to the wellness area and chill in the whirlpool or turn up the heat in the sauna or steam room which was our favourite way to loosen up after a day skiing.

Rooms are comfortable and clean, each with a balcony to step out onto and enjoy the magnificent views the area has to offer. In many rooms the walls are made of larch and alder wood, giving a real warm feeling and keeping in touch with the hotel's connection with nature and the surroundings.

Each morning you will enjoy a buffet breakfast with hot and cold options to get you ready for the day ahead. Dinner is an impressive 4 course meal and a chance for the chef to get creative as his clear passion for cooking is displayed with every dish served.

For those looking to explore the lovely resort of Selva, it's just a little ski down the hill or a 15 minute walk. It's maybe just the walk back up the hill that might be the struggle but that just means you've earned a few hours in the spa or perhaps an extra drink before dinner.

Another great thing about the location is the nursery slopes and ski school meeting points are both nearby, so not far to go at all each morning. A great hotel for those seeking the perfect location.

Transfer time: approx. 3 hours by coach from Innsbruck airport.

Set in the Südtirol’s charming Gardena valley, Selva is a gateway to the famous Sellaronda skiing circuit, where you can ski around the gigantic limestone monoliths of the Gruppo Sella. This delightful and not particularly challenging 25 mile tour can be achieved fairly easily in a day. Selva, part of Dolomiti Superski, the largest lift system in Europe, combines the best of Italian and South Tyrolean traditions for a unique ski holiday experience. It offers unbeatable quantity and variety of skiing right on its doorstep, a paradise for dedicated skiers of all levels. The picturesque old town of Ortisei, the principal community and cultural centre of Val Gardena, with its own small ski area, is both chic and traditional, with a picturesque town centre. Ortisei links easily with Selva’s pistes whilst its local Alpe di Siusi ski area is also well-known for its cross-country trails and a thrilling six kilometre toboggan run. Val Gardena is the venue for one of the early World Cup meetings each season. The Saslong downhill run to Santa Cristina - with its famous "camel bumps" - is the scene of the men's downhill on Mount Ciampinoi.
