Beginners skiing and snowboarding in Selva
If you are just learning to ski there is a lovely beginners area just a short walk from the main street, there's a variety of different drag lifts so you can progress onto the more challenging nursery slopes once you have found your feet. Beginners will enjoy the cruisy blues in Alpe di Siusi or in Plan de Gralba, which can be accessed via the free resort bus.
Intermediates skiing and snowboarding in Selva
Intermediates are spoilt for choice. There's a wide choice of reds and black pistes in the Val Gardena, head up the Ciampinoi and test your ability on the Saslong World Cup slopes, then head up towards Seceda for sun drenched slopes and the infamous 'La Longia' run. The slopes on the Dantercepies side are just as nice, you have the pick of a few red or black routes back towards the village, or drop down the back for access to Alta Badia and Arabba.
Selva is right in the middle of the Sella Ronda, a 27km circuit around the Gruppo Sella. Explore Corvara and the Alta Badia circuit including the more testing runs around Arabba, or venture towards Canazei and Campitello in Val di Fassa Choose to tour a different area every day, with plenty of mountain restaurants to stop and refuel, and the best bit, there's no need for a bus!
Advanced skiing and snowboarding in Selva
Advanced skiers and boarders will enjoy the challenge of skiing the Sella Ronda in record time, however there are plenty of areas to explore. Make your way over to Arabba for incredible views and even better skiing, there's plenty of exhilarating black ski runs from the scenic Porta Vescovo mountain or make your way up to the Marmolada glacier for fantastic skiing and views of the Dolomites.
The Great War Ski Tour is an 80 km long trip through the Col di Lana, you'll find traces of the first world war throughout including trenches, forts and artefacts. For the whole tour you need approximately 7 and 8 hours, so we recommend having an early breakfast to make it back in time.
