Verbier is without doubt one of the world’s top resorts, with a huge amount of skiing – and that’s without the other resorts it provides a gateway to: the ‘4 Vallées’ region which altogether provides 412km of pistes to explore. An attractive, modern resort built in traditional chalet style, Verbier is home to some of the most challenging and varied skiing in the Alps. Verbier is the area's largest and most important resort and lies in a sunny, south-facing bowl with spectacular views of the surrounding peaks - a panorama over the Matterhorn, the Combins and the Mont Blanc ranges can be enjoyed from the ski area’s highest point, Mont Fort at 3330m.
Beginners skiing in Verbier
Verbier has an excellent ski school and good nursery slopes both at village level and above.
Intermediates skiing in Verbier
Fantastic variety is available to skiers at this level, all easily accessible from the village. The pistes of Savoleyres are an ideal starting point and offer some wonderful views down onto Verbier and there are plenty of challenging red runs to push you onto the next level.
Advanced skiing in Verbier
Verbier is renowned for its steep itinerary runs, outstanding off-piste and copious black runs. The area's great classics include the exhilarating black run from Mont Fort and the ‘itinerary’ routes from Col des Gentaines and Mont Gelé. Even the most expert of skiers will find a challenge.
Snowboarding in Verbier
With hardly a draglift to be found in the local area, Verbier is a great resort for snowboarders. Try the snowpark or boarder cross at La Chaux, not forgetting endless powder runs between the pistes!
