Are you looking for a fun ski event to enjoy this April? Then you’re in luck. April is a month of Easter celebrations, ski resort closing parties and exciting music festivals. And what is more, there’s still incredible snow covering the mountains (with more snowfall predicted!) meaning you can not only party hard during your holiday, but you can ski hard too.

Here are the most amazing ski events taking place this April:

Top of the Mountain Easter Concert 2018, Ischgl

When: 1 April 2018

Ischgl’s Top of the Mountain concerts are scattered throughout the ski season. The concerts provide top-class entertainment among some of the Alp’s greatest skiing – and admission to the concert is totally free with your lift pass. Performers vary from German and Austrian musicians to world famous artists such as Elton John.

This Easter’s headliner is former The Voice of Germany contestant, Max Giesinger. You might not be able to sing along to the songs, but the atmosphere on the piste in Ischgl is guaranteed to be buzzing.

An end of season highlight in Obergurgl and Hochgurgl, the Open Faces Freeride Contest is an action filled spectator event. Watch some of the world’s most talented off-piste skiers ride Obergurgl’s challenging off-piste, competing to be crowned the area’s greatest freerider.

Pipe Ground 2018, Avoriaz

When: 8 April – 14 April 2018

Pipe Ground is essentially a freestyle closing party for Avoriaz. The Pipe Ground is a uniquely sculpted freestyle module, with more in common with a skate park than a snow park. The innovative layout is designed by the Avoriaz Snowzone team and completely transforms the Avoriaz half pipe for the month of April.

In the run up to the event, pro-riders will take the time to put the module through its paces, using the space to shoot freestyle video. When the event gets started, the Pipe Ground will be used for freestyle training during the morning, with pro-riders among the instructors. In the afternoon the module will be open to the public to explore and make use of.
