Due to its sheltered location at the end of a deep bay created by a river inlet the village was originally a bustling fishing village but is now recognised as popular tourist destination, with its Artisan shops and Trattorias enjoying views through the village streets and across the bay.

Its sandy town beach is easily accessible and the bays calm waters make it an ideal place to spend your days, a short walk allows you to explore more of beaches along the bay most of which have golden sand gently shelving into the calm waters.

Cannigione is located in the Arzachena district and close to the resorts of Porto Cervo, Palau and Baia Sardinia which are all worth visiting.

Places to see in Cannigione

Take a boat trip to explore the Maddalena Archipelago National park.

To the North of the village Punta Occhione, a short walk to its summit allows you to enjoy the views over the entire gulf and as far as Roccia dell'Orso (Bear Rock), which is reachable by car. 

Porto Cervo is renowned for being a resort for the wealthy and elite of Europe, it is well worth visiting during the day or for dinner in the evening, take a stroll along the port to admire the exclusive yachts.

Palau is a resort to the North which looks over to Maddalena with rocky out crops and small coves and beaches.
