Puglia, the 'heel' of Italy's boot, is an unspoilt region of olive groves and whitewashed villages that has been overlooked by mass tourism for some time, but is now starting to attract wholly deserved attention. Most famous for its trulli, strange conical roofed houses, Puglia also has magnificent baroque architecture and a beautiful coastline.
