This eclectic tour discovers the less-travelled area of Tuscia, which lies between Tuscany and Rome, and was once home to the Renaissance Popes. There’s something for everyone in this tour with visits including palaces, Italian gardens, thermal springs and ancient Etruscan sites.

Day 1 | Fly to Rome from your chosen UK airport and transfer to the Eurotel St John in Rome. Meet your Tour Manager and fellow travellers in the evening.
Day 2 | This morning we enjoy a guided tour of the highlights of Rome including the Imperial Forum and the Colosseum. In the afternoon we leave for San Martino al Cimino in Tuscia and check in to the Balletti Park Hotel, our home for 6 nights.
Day 3 | Today we have a guided walking tour of the medieval historic centre of Viterbo to discover its treasures such as the Papal Palace.
This area is famed for its hot thermal waters and this afternoon there’s an optional visit to one of the local springs where you can bathe in the hot, medicinal waters.
Day 4 | This morning we drive to Tarquinia, one of the most fascinating archaeological sites in Italy, to see the beautifully preserved Etruscan tomb paintings.There’s also time in the town for lunch and an optional visit to the museum.
After lunch we stop at the little town of Tuscania to see the 11th century church of San Pietro and for a wander around the pretty historical centre.
Day 5 | Civita di Bagnoregio is a unique village perched on a rocky outcrop and virtually cut off from the surrounding area, and also known as the 'ghost town' as most of its inhabitants
