This April we’re all getting very excited for the upcoming jazz festival approaching St Anton am Alberg. The weather has been fantastic recently, so with the combination of beautiful sunshine and fantastic music expecting a brilliant couple of days.

Starting on the 7th April 2017 the festival brings a dash of southern flair to St Anton for three days. Cool funk and blues rhythms will play at live street concerts, in many local establishments and even on the sunny slopes.

During the festival there will be a typical New Orleans marching band strolling the streets of the beautiful Tyrolean village. Called the ‘New Orleans meets Snow’ festival it has enticed the Austrian jazz elite to the Arlberg area for the past 4 years.

The highlight of this year’s line-up is the fantastic and amazing ‘Blues Night’, held on Saturday evening. The event features the likes of the Markus Linder Band and Vasti Jackson, a one off special guest from New Orleans. The entry is free of charge and is worth a visit. It is a fantastic chance to experience the local jazz scene.

The music starts at 11am everyday on the mountain, giving you an early chance to start enjoy the different atmosphere the festival will bring. On both Friday and Saturday the performances finish at 10pm in one of St Anton’s best bars, Murmmels. Known for fantastic live music, the festivities will make the bar an even better place to finish your après ski day.

Jules, Gampen Restaurant, Galzig Bistro Bar, Rendl Beach bar and the Mountain Station at Galzigbahn will all host live music. And the food they have on offer is fantastic, so it’s worth heading there to make the most of this unique opportunity to eat delicious food whilst listening to the music.

The final venue for the festival, is the Hotel Post. Their big out door veranda and central St Anton location is the perfect place to finish the weekend. You’d be mad not to visit St Anton at this time and soak up the atmosphere. See you soon!
