Courmayeur, Italy

Best for: Iconic skiing in the foothills of Mont Blanc

Courmayeur ski holidays

The famous ski resort of Courmayeur is a stylish addition to the Inghams family of ski holiday destinations. The town its-self is well known for its sophistication. The chic centre is full of cobbled streets, high-class shops, and restaurants serving top-quality cuisine. It’s unsurprising then, that Courmayeur’s incredible, ultra-modern SkyWay gondola featured so prominently in 2017’s glamorous spy-flic, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, starring Colin Firth.

The skiing is phenomenal too. The extensive network of red runs makes this an ideal resort for intermediates, and the off-piste Valle Blanche is one of the world’s greatest ski runs. At 22km, it is the longest lift served run in Europe – it’s well worth hiring a guide to take you along this route into Chamonix, France.

Inghams recommends: The 4-star Hotel Gran Baita is a suitably stylish and sophisticated place to stay during your Courmayeur ski holiday. A prestigious hotel, the Gran Baita is an icon of Courmayeur. The elegant hotel is stylishly furnished in an Alpine style and offers incredible wellness facilities including a connected indoor and heated outdoor pool.

Stay at the Hotel Gran Baita in Courmayeur in January 2018 from £969 per person, half board, including flights and transfers.

La Cluzas, France

Best for: Fun-loving families looking for unique experiences

La Cluzas ski holidays

Is there a better ski resort for families? It begins with an easy transfer. La Cluzas is only a short distance from the airport, so you don’t have to worry about keeping kids occupied on a long coach drive. And it gets better! La Cluzas is a renowned for the quality of its beginner’s ski terrain – it’s an ideal resort in which to learn to ski.

La Cluzas is also an exceptionally pretty village. The ski resort has a superb, traditional, French village atmosphere which is equal parts chilled out, fun and friendly. This is one of the few French ski resorts where you can go ski joëring – skiing where you’re pulled along by a horse! And a couple of times a season the piste is left open until 1am so visitors have the chance to ski by moonlight.

Inghams recommends: The 3-star Alpen Roc Hotel is a friendly and sociable place to stay during your ski holiday, and it provides great value for money. Between 10am and 11pm each day, Inghams guests are entitled to free hot drinks (including tea, coffe and hot chocolate), wine and beer at the bar. The outstanding wellness centre is perfect for unwinding after a day spent skiing and kids will love the buffet dinners.

Stay at the Alpen Roc Hotel in La Cluzas in December 2018 from £969 per person, half board, including flights and transfers.

Sämoen, France

Best for: Those who love a traditional mountain village with incredible skiing

Samoens ski holidays

The small town of Sämoen is as well-known for its history of stonemasonry as it is for the quality of its skiing. The French mountain village is incredibly pretty and connects with Flaine, part of the Grand Massif, France’s fourth largest ski area. The village gondola takes you straight up to beautiful tree-lined runs and breath-taking views.

The charming village centre is great for families too. Friendly and welcoming, Sämoen’s hospitable ambience reaches its peak every Wednesday when the weekly Savoyard market comes to town. The market is fantastic for self-catering guests, and a great place to buy your French breads, wines and cheeses.

Inghams recommends:  The 4-star Hotel & Résidence Neige & Roc was awarded the prestigious Maitre Restauranteur for its use of fresh and local produce in its cuisine. A traditional hotel, the Neige & Roc is perfect if you’re looking to extend the old fashioned ambience of the village to your accommodation.

Stay at the Hotel & Résidence Neige & Roc in Sämoen in March 2019 from £1,029 per person, half board, including flights and transfers.

Sölden, Austria

Best for: High altitude party animals

Solden ski holidays

We’re delighted to welcome Sölden to the Inghams family this coming winter. The stylish ski resort is a legendary destination with an expansive, high altitude ski area. Two glaciers contribute to Sölden’s skiable terrain, ensuring a long season and guaranteed snow. Sölden also shares its whole area lift pass with high altitude neighbour, Obergurgl, which is only a short bus ride away. That’s a lot of high quality skiing!

James Bond fans will recognise Sölden from the 2015 film Spectre. The stylish Ice Q mountain restaurant featured in the movie as a futuristic hospital. Sölden is also a great place to grab a vodka martini (shaken not stirred, of course). The ski resort has an excellent après ski scene that competes with St Anton and Ischgl for the best party atmosphere in Austria.

Inghams recommends: The 4-star Hotel Tyrolerhof is a great place to stay in Sölden. The hotel is only a short walk from the nearest ski lifts – the Giggijoch Gondola is only 250m away and the charming in house ‘Grizzly Bar’ is one of the resorts most popular après-ski spots. If that wasn’t enough, the stylish hotel has an extensive spa area with indoor pool and the rooms are superbly comfortable.

Stay at the Hotel Tyrolerhof in Solden in April 2019 from £1,099 per person, half board, including flights and transfers.
