A delightful Japanese resort, Nozawa originated as a hot spring village for resting travellers with the first Onsen (bath house) constructed in the 16th century. Today, the Onsens are still managed by the local people and very much part of the culture- a perfect remedy to any aching muscles after hitting the slopes. Skiing in Nozawa came a little later and was (surprisingly) introduced by the Austrians in the early 1900’s. Reach the top of the slopes and you can observe the Northern Japan Alps and on a really clear day you may even spot the sea. There is varied terrain, long runs and a great section of tree lined off piste skiing plus a reputation for the heaviest snow fall in the Nagano district. Our accommodation varies from western to Japanese (with communal onsen) to allow you to decide how deep into Japanese culture you wish to explore!
We like to keep things simple, your lift pass is included in the price!
For customers travelling from Hakuba, an excursion to see the snow monkeys at Jigokudani and lunch at the igloo park is included.
While our Japan holidays typically depart on a Saturday, the itinerary and duration is completely down to your needs! Give our reservations team a call to speak to our Japan specialists, on 01483 676 800.
