Our partnership with Snow Camp

Inghams are committed to increasing exposure and opening up career opportunities for all young people in the UK. No matter your background, gender or ethnicity, we want everyone to be able to experience the joy of skiing and snowboarding; which is why we’re proud to support Snow Camp – the national youth charity who, for the past 20 years, have been turning young lives around with the power of snowsports.

Snow Camp support more than 1000 underprivileged inner city young people annually by breaking down barriers and broadening horizons through their award-winning year-long snowsports journey delivered at indoor and outdoor slopes, plus a life-changing week in the mountains. For many young people facing challenges in their daily lives, Snow Camp is a vital lifeline.

In January 2023, we took a group of young Snow Camp apprentices out to the mountains to give them a taste of life working as a seasonaire:

In January 2024, for the 2nd year running we took new apprentices out to the mountains to experience the life of a seasonaire:

January 2024 also saw the start of combining this apprenticeship with a UK based learning experience.

Looking to broaden horizons and open doors for these young people, Inghams also provided the apprentices with a taste of ski season living, exposure to mountain-based career pathways, plus ski and snowboard lessons on the slopes. This second group of apprentices are now armed with new life skills and mountain experiences that have inspired them to seek further snow sport industry opportunities.

What is Snow Camp:

✔️ Working at indoor snow domes, young people learn how to ski or snowboard alongside life skills training, qualifications and mental health support.

✔️ As part of their training young people also experience the mountains for the very first time on an annual residential.

✔️ After a year of hard work they spend a week in the mountains shadowing instructors and gaining valuable snow experience.

Working with Snow Camp:

We are working with Snow Camp, to help break down barriers and broaden the horizons for young people in the UK. We are committed to:

✔️ 12 month internship in the Inghams UK head office to give one of the 2023/24 Snow Camp apprentices first-hand experience of working in the industry.

✔️ Inghams host  groups of young apprentices in the Alps in winter to give them exposure to life in the mountains
