Zell am See

Zell am See is one of the most scenic and well-loved summer resorts in Austria. Beautifully located, directly on the shores of Lake Zell, it is also close to the Hohe Tauern National Park and the magnificent Grossglockner mountain region. Most of Zell am See’s medieval centre is traffic-free with a variety of shops and attractive pavement cafés. There are magnificent walks accessed by gondola on the Schmittenhöhe mountain, and the resort offers a wide range of activities plus evening lake cruises and a weekly village festival in July and August. Just 20 minutes away by local bus, the pretty mountain village of Kaprun is an ideal place for walking and cycling, with skiing on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier available from end of September to mid-July.

Family holiday

Family holidays are great and there is so much to do. From the youngest one to the older ones only fun, action and adventure is on their mind. And you deserve rest, relaxation and activity.   • Weekly organised "Cool Kids Fun" and "Cool Adventure" activities for childern ages 5-15 years. Activities include a day on the farm, pirates ahoi on the Lake Zell, family day glacier day on ice & snow, archery, mountain biking, and more. Please note: some activities may be in German.
  • Water activities on the lake (the three lidos Zell am See, Thumersbach and Schüttdorf are the hotspots for water enthusiasts. Children's pool, adventure pool, diving platform, swimming bays, swimming floats, water slides and much more ensuring that nobody gets bored at the lake).

Berchtesgaden, Germany (full day)

Cross the border into Germany and visit this beautiful Bavarian town with optional excursions to salt-mines and the spectacular Eagles Nest, Hitler’s famous hilltop retreat, where you can enjoy lunch with incredible panoramic views. Entrance to Eagle's Nest is optional, pay locally.

Krimml Waterfalls (half day)

Europe’s highest waterfall, with a total drop of 380 meters in three spectacular stages. You can walk right to the foot of the falls where they empty into the river Salzach and enjoy the sound and the fury. The fit and energetic can attempt the steep walk right to the top. There is also time to relax with a drink and a delicious cake at one of the cafes.

Grossglockner (full day)

A magnificent drive along a famous Alpine road leading right into the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park up to the highest mountain in Austria at 3,073m, for breath taking glacier views and a chance to see wild marmots at close range. One of our most popular excursions for nature lovers, we enjoy lunch on top of the mountain.
