Villa e Palazzo Aminta is a very good choice for a luxury holiday on Lake Maggiore. It’s one of the best hotels in the area. It’s got a great lakeside location with views towards the Borromean Islands and the centre of Stresa can be reached easily with a stroll along the lakefront promenade. There's a free shuttle there if you don't feel like walking.

This hotel is family-run and all of the staff take great pride in what they do, which makes the whole experience of staying here really special. Everything is well maintained. We love it as soon as we walk through the doors and see the Venetian floor and marble columns in the lobby. There’s lots of places to relax, both inside and out. Order a drink at the bar and chill out on one of the soft sofas or head to the gardens where little tables and chairs have been set up next to the colourful flowers. The outdoor pool is at the front of the property and looks out over the lake. It’s a lovely place to read a book while you sun bathe. Inside you’ll find a nice spa with a Hamman and Jacuzzi. Check out the treatments list and book in a nice massage or facial for the ultimate pampering session. Entry to the spa and treatments are payable locally.

The rooms offer the same luxury and comfort as the rest of the hotel. They got rich fabrics, Italian furniture and private balconies that have views of the gardens or the lake. Some of the best lake views can be had over dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. There’s a high standard here with delicious local dishes and some excellent wines that complement the food perfectly.

Stylish Stresa is Lake Maggiore's leading resort. Take your summer holidays in Stresa this year and experience this unforgettably beautiful Italian lake resort. The idyllic Borromean Islands are only a short boat ride away and Monte Mottarone, with its superb views, is easy to reach by cable car.

The lush gardens of Villa Pallavicino and Villa Taranto are well worth a visit. Summer holidays in Stresa take you to a flower filled, fragrant place with a long, landscaped lake front promenade. This links by cable-car and lake ferry to all the resort's main hotels. Imagine crystal clear waters, sparkling blue skies and idyllic lake islands and that's a summer holiday in Stresa... in a nutshell!

The old town centre has been partly pedestrianised and comes to life in the evenings as the bars and restaurants spill into the squares. Holidaymakers love summer holidays in Stresa for the smart shops that line the narrow, cobbled streets. And the music! From the end of July to September, Stresa's celebrated International Music Festival offers 25 fantastic classical music concerts.
