Restaurants, food and drink

Courchevel is a lively resort with plenty of restaurants to choose from. If you are looking to head out for dinner, enjoy Savoyard specialties such as tartiflette, fondue and raclette at L'Anerie a renovated farm building or authentic Italian dishes at San Marco.  There are also 13 Mitchelin stars to be found in Courchevel if gourmet cuisine is more to your taste.

On the mountain there is just as much choice. Enjoy fine dining at the famous La Folie Douce La Fruitiere restaurant or lunch in the sun at Le Monchu located on the Rhodos piste. You an also find a number of snack bars or self service restaurants throughout the Three Valleys.

Apres, bars and nightlife

Courchevel Moriond has a lively apres scene with plenty of reasonably priced spots including the Funky Fox which has live music and DJs throughout the winter season.  You are never far from live music,  DJ sets, dancing on tables or relaxing spots in Courchevel 1850. La Folie Douce is a renowned apres spot up in the mountains, popular for its open air clubbing. Once you have made your way back down to resort enjoy Le Tremplin located on the snow front for the last of the afternoon sun and live music. If you’re in Courchevel 1550 there are some hidden gems hidden away, Le Caterail often has live music and sports streaming to keep you entertained.

Spas and relaxation 

Guests staying at the Hotel Les Sherpas can make the most of the hotels own wellness area which includes a heated indoor swimming pool, sauna and steam room. To truly unwind, treatments and massages are also available to book locally.

The public Aquamotion Centre has an indoor and outdoor swimming pool heated to 34°c, as well as a hammam, sauna and jacuzzi. Perfect for an afternoon of relaxing when its either to snowy to ski or you just need a day off the mountain.

Shopping 

For those staying on a self catering basis there are a number of supermarkets available to purchase groceries. The resort has luxury boutiques and quaint traditional shops dotted throughout the resort.  You can find the likes of Dior, Moncler and Chanel selling the seasons trending items or local shops selling regional products.

Equipment rental and sports shops are typically open until late in the day so you can maximise your time on the mountain before returning your equipment at the end of your last day.

Things to do in Courchevel

Aquamotion

This state-of-the-art pool and spa center is a brilliant way to take a day off from skiing and rest your legs. Perfect for the whole family, the swimming area has a children’s play pool, two large pools, diving boards and slides. There is also a mini wave pool to test your surf skills. Payable locally.

Ice skating 

Swap your skis for a set of skates and enjoy the indoor ice skating rink which is open daily throughout the season. You can also watch ice hockey matches throughout the winter. Payable locally.

Snowshoeing

Courchevel lets you walk into the heart of its unspoiled natural environment with 11 snowshoeing itineraries which are categorised from green to black, just like the ski runs. Whether you’re an occasional rambler or a hard-core hiker, there are snowshoeing itineraries for all abilities. Payable locally.

Night skiing

Courchevel opens the Verdons Gondola after the rest of the slopes have closed for an evening of skiing in the moonlight. The run is lit up and music adds to the unique atmosphere. It is a fun and different experience and a great time to ski without any queues, plus it is included with your lift pass.

Tobogganing

Race down the 3km toboggan run in Courchevel Moriond (1650) it is incredible fun for the whole family. You can also whizz down the 2km long sledge run in Courchevel in both day and night. Payable locally.

Snowmobiling

This is a great opportunity to experience the mountain in a different way. Once the ski area and lifts have closed for the day head on a guided snowmobile expedition around the snowy landscape. Payable locally. 

Dog sledding 

See a different side of the mountains by taking a dog sled ride in to the middle of the forest and a protected natural environment. You will be driven by a professional musher, while comfortably seated in the sledge. Payable locally.

Ice diving

Go on an underwater dive in the Courchevel Le Praz lake at an altitude of 1300m. Led by a professional diver you can head under the ice for a thrilling (and chilling) adventure. Payable locally.

Parapenting

Take to the skies and experience the mountains from above, an experienced guide will take you to new heights where you glide over the stunning mountain landscape. Payable locally.

Hot air ballooning 

If you don't fancy gliding through the air, you can go on a hot air balloon flight and admire the Alps from above.  The balloons tend to come from the Altiport of Courchevel 1850, and take you on an hour tour of the mountains. Payable locally.

Bowling

For an activity which doesn't involve skiing, snowboarding or après, head to the bowling alley at the Forum for a game or two. There is also a bar and restaurant onsite, as well as billiards and arcade games to keep you entertained. Payable locally.
